Rocco Mediate, the golfer, the poker player.

©2008 PKR Pete – If anybody watched the US Open, you would have seen Rocco playing amazing golf, and nearly tipping golfing legend (and my hero) Tiger Woods. He had a chance to win it on the 90th hole of the tournament, but missed the putt on 18, to take it to sudden death against Tiger, as you know, you can’t give Tiger a second chance, and sure enough, Tiger took it.
What I didn’t know, was that Rocco is an amateur poker player, having tried his hand at 2005 World Series of Poker Main Event, an event where fellow antipodean (I am a Kiwi!) Joe Hachem won, taking home $7.5 million dollars. Rocco failed to cash in that tournament. Maybe we will see Rocco going heads up in a final table one day, perhaps against the Tiger Woods of poker, Phil Ivey?
